Stermole Soccer Stadium

Stermole Soccer Stadium, named in honor of Frank and Dot Stermole in the fall of 2014, is the home of the Oredigger men's and women's soccer teams. Located in the heart of the Clear Creek Athletic Complex, it is one of the top soccer-specific facilities in NCAA Division II, and even rivals many Division I stadiums. Stermole Stadium has an artificial all-weather pitch and seating accommodations for 500 spectators with spectacular views of Golden, North Table Mountain, and the foothills. Hillside grass seating can accommodate hundreds more spectators.

In the summer of 2015, the stadium received a new support building which it shares with the adjacent Stermole Track & Field Complex, containing locker rooms for both teams, meeting spaces including the double-sided Bonnie M. Kazemi Conference Room, a press box, and storage. The summer of 2020 brought the addition of an awards display on the wall east of the support building, featuring all-Americans, CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, RMAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances for both the men's and women's programs. A lead gift from Ben Mares ('73) and support from additional alumni made the awards display possible.

In only a few short years, Stermole Stadium has hosted several major events, including games in the 2014 NCAA Women's and 2015 NCAA Men's tournaments, the 2016 NCAA Women's South Central/West super regional, and both teams won the RMAC Tournament titles on the field on the same day in 2015 and 2018. The United States women's national team trained at Stermole Stadium in April 2014 ahead of their friendly against China at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver. Starting in 2019, the Colorado Rapids Women began using Stermole Stadium as their home pitch for WPSL games.
 


No dogs are allowed in Mines facilities.
TICKETS: Tickets are sold only at the gate on game day. Tickets are $10 for adult general admission, $5 for children, seniors, and military, and free for Mines students, faculty, and staff with pass.
PARKING: Fans can utilize the North (K) Lot which is located at the end of 11th Street.
