GOLDEN – The No. 16 Colorado School of Mines volleyball team will try to push its winning streak to five on Saturday afternoon when it faces Chadron State at Armstrong Gymnasium in Chadron, Neb.
The match is scheduled to being at 5 p.m.
The Orediggers (10-4, 4-1 RMAC) head into the match following a 3-0 win over Black Hills State on Friday evening in Spearfish, S.D. The Orediggers got a game-high 15 kills from RMAC Offensive Player of the Week Jackie Stabell while sophomore Laura Beckmann added 11 kills on a .455 attack percentage.
Mines was led defensively by sophomore Sarah Pekarek with 19 digs, while RMAC Defensive Player of the Week Melanie Wannamaker led the front line with two of the team's four blocks. RMAC Setter of the Week Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood paced the offense to a .330 attack percentage as a squad while posting 39 assists in the matchup.
Chadron State (3-11, 1-4 RMAC) fell to Colorado Christian on Friday evening by a 3-1 final in Chadron, Neb.
Mines is 27-14 against the Eagles in 41 matches since the 1992 season. The Orediggers won a pair of 3-0 matchups last year – one in Golden and one in Chadron, Neb.
