GOLDEN – Visiting Chadron State captured seven bout victories in spoiling Senior Night for the Colorado School of Mines wrestling team by a 23-9 final at Volk Gymnasium in Golden on Wednesday evening.
Mines (3-10, 0-6 RMAC) captured three bout victories during the dual, including wins by Austin Cordova (149), John Crowley (157) and Paul Wilson (197).
Cordova stopped a three-bout streak to start the dual for the Eagles (7-8, 3-4 RMAC) with a 7-4 decision at 149 pounds.
Crowley then cut the Eagles' lead to 9-6 with his team-leading 25th victory with a 10-3 decision over Bruce Zurek.
Wilson captured Mines' final victory at 197 pounds with a 10-4 decision over Chris Leak.
Mines will close out the dual season with a matchup against No. 14 Colorado Mesa on Saturday in Grand Junction.
