GOLDEN – After pushing the first set to extra points before claiming a 28-26 victory, the No. 19 Colorado School of Mines volleyball picked up the intensity over the final two sets en route to pushing its win streak to three on Friday with a 3-0 win over Texas Woman's during the nightcap of the Oredigger Volleyball Classic at Lockridge Arena.

Mines (3-3) used terrific defense, both at the net and the back line, to limit the Pioneers (3-3) to just a .075 attack percentage during the match.

The trio of Melanie Wannamaker, Alanna Winfield and Abby Reuland pushed the offense forward with a combined 34 of Mines' 48 kills during the match, with Wannamaker and Winfield knocking in 12 apiece.

Freshman Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood recorded 42 assists and 12 digs for another double-double, while freshman Taryn Huber led the squad with 17 digs.

Senior Hannah Margheim added nine digs and three assists, while freshman Samantha Fischer added four blocks and six kills on a .364 attack percentage.

Mines will return to action tomorrow when it continues to host the Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriott Oredigger Volleyball Classic at Lockridge Arena in Golden.

Mines will open up action on Saturday with a 12 p.m. matchup against No. 22 Central Washington on Court 1.
