GOLDEN – Led by a match-high 14 kills from sophomore Alanna Winfield, the No. 11 Colorado School of Mines volleyball squad completed a Dig Pink Weekend sweep with a 3-0 win over Chadron State on Saturday at Lockridge Arena.
Game scores for the match were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-17.
Mines (16-2, 9-1 RMAC) hit a robust .382 as a squad in the win while holding the Eagles (3-15, 2-8 RMAC) to a .100 attack percentage defensively.
Winfield notched her 14 kills on .370 hitting while freshman Ellie Monarch led the team with a .583 attack percentage on eight kills in addition to three blocks defensively.
Sophomore Megan Peterson hit .316 on the way to eight kills while also notching three digs and a team-high four blocks on the defensive end.
Junior Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood notched 42 assists and eight digs while also notching a pair of kills on two attacks.
Sophomore Taryn Huber led the squad with 14 digs while senior Sarah Pekarek notched eight in addition to four kills. Sophomore Frannie Cormier posted five kills on a .400 attack percentage while also chipping in a pair of digs defensively.
Mines will head out on the road for the first time in nearly a month next weekend when the squad faces Colorado Colorado Springs and Regis on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
