PUEBLO, Colo. - #20 Colorado School of Mines improved to 2-0 in RMAC play with hot hitting to beat CSU-Pueblo 3-0 on the road.
The Orediggers (8-3, 2-0 RMAC) hit .382 for the match led by Maddie Behr (12 kills, .571) and
Abby Tiesman (12 kills, .522) along with
Ellie Monarch (10 kills, .391). Marina hansen put up 48 assists while the Mines defense was led by
LaRose Currie's 20 digs.
Mines cruised to a 25-22 first-set win, capitalizing on six Pueblo attack errors, then hit .500 in the second set to win 25-19. The third set featured a dramatic comeback to avoid a fourth; down 23-19, Mines scored the final six points of the set to win 25-23 as Tiesman had three kills in that span along with a block to key the rally.
The Orediggers will return home Tuesday to face Colorado Christian at 7 p.m. before hosting Westminster Saturday at 5 p.m. as they continue RMAC play.
