Mines Drops 8-0 Game To St. Mary's

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - St. Mary's used two big innings to get past Colorado School of Mines in an 8-0, six-inning game on Saturday.

The Orediggers (0-7) were held to two hits as the Rattlers (4-4) put up four-run frames in the first and sixth innings to win the game. St. Mary's generated 12 hits.

Kendall Murphy led off the game with a single, and Megan Dickson had a fourth-inning single for the Orediggers. St. Mary's starter Jayme Johns went the distance in allowing only two hits with two strikeouts; starter Sydney Marchando (0-3) left the game in the first allowing four runs, while Claire Stringfellow was effective allowing one earned through five and Kylie Redding worked the final out, a strikeout.

Rain in San Antonio caused the cancelation of Mines' game with Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday; it also shuffled Sunday's schedule with the Texas A&M-Commerce canceled and Mines' game with St. Edward's moved to Texas Lutheran University's field for a 2:30 p.m. CT start.
