Trevor Florendo '14 was named Mines' first Strength and Conditioning Coach in August of 2016. Since then, Mines Athletics has won the RMAC All-Sports cup every year.
During his time at Mines, Trevor has built a strength & conditioning department from the ground up as the first full-time hire in school history. In addition to overseeing the training of athletes, Florendo has had a hand in developing a sports-nutrition program, and is currently building a Biomechanics of Sport Performance Lab, where he works to study key indicators of sport injuries to enhance the safety of every athlete.
Florendo is certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, as well as a Level 1 sports performance coach through USA Weightlifting. A 2014 graduate of Mines majoring in mechanical engineering, Florendo was a four-year member of the football team. He is also back in school at Mines finishing his Master’s Degree in Biomechanics while directing research in Applied Sport Biomechanics.
