Kenny Doerrer was named to the Mines Golf staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2018.
Doerrer is experienced as a player, coach, caddie, and in golf operations across the country. Prior to coming to Mines, he was the head coach at Basalt High School from 2015 to 2018, and also served as the junior golf director and caddie master at Roaring Fork Golf Club in Basalt during the same time period. Doerrer has also been an assistant coach at Regis University (2015), an instructor at Telluride Ski and Golf Club (2010-13), and director of the Benchmark Junior Golf and High School program (2010-13). He has also worked in operations and guest services at a variety of courses including Telluride GC, Auberge Resort, and Cornerstone Club in Colorado as well as the Ritz Carlton GC in Florida.
As a player, Doerrer has played in the US Amateur (1999) and US Mid-Amateur (2011), and was an all-Big South player at Winthrop University, where he was a four-year member of the program. Doerrer has also caddied at a high level including for players on the LPGA and Web.com Tours. Doerrer is Titleist Performance Institute certified and a U.S. Kids Golf certified instructor.
Doerrer holds a B.S. in business management from Winthrop.
