Max Wessell joined the Mines Wrestling coaching staff in the fall of 2018. A former NCAA Division I all-American wrestling for Lehigh, Wessell is an experienced athlete and instructor.
Wessell joins the Mines staff having helped grow the sport locally at the Mile High Wrestling Club, where he taught athletes of all ages how to wrestle. He has also worked extensively with the Boulder Judo At-Risk Youth Program and the Boulder Community Youth Charity Board.
As a wrestler, Wessell was a 2016 all-American and EIWA champion for Lehigh. He was named Lehigh's team MVP and an Academic All-American as a senior and earned four letters. Wessell graduated with a degree in business.
