Scott Van Sickle returns to his alma mater for a 25th season in 2020-21, resuming his second stint as assistant coach of the Colorado School of Mines track and field program.

The sprints and mid-distance coach since 2005, Van Sickle has overseen 69 NCAA All-Americans, one national champion, a four-time USATF indoor championships qualifier and a three-time outdoor championships participant.

He served as head coach from 1999-05 following three seasons in an assistant role between 1996 and 1999.

A 1996 Mines graduate in mathematics and computer science, Van Sickle closed his collegiate track career as a nine-time all-conference selection and four-time RMAC champion, qualifying for the NCAA outdoor races with the 4x100 relay in 1996. 

He and his wife, Shasta, reside in Arvada with their two children, Peyton and Skylar.
