Mines at #10 CSU-Pueblo, Saturday, Saturday, 5:30 p.m. [Video]

THE MATCH-UP
Mines continues to fight for a playoff spot with a home midweek contest against New Mexico Highlands tomorrow night before making their way south down I-25 for a showdown at nationally 10th-ranked CSU-Pueblo. The Orediggers (10-10, 6-5) are tied for sixth place in the RMAC standings with MSU Denver, but hold the tiebreaker with the Roadrunners. CSU-Pueblo leads the league at a perfect 17-0 overall and 11-0 in the league. NMHU is currently 14th at 2-13, 1-10.

LAST TIME OUT
This past weekend's game were all about the fourth quarter. Trailing 49-48 with 8:45 left to go in the game, Mines scored 23 of the last 25 points to defeat Western State, 71-51. The Orediggers clamped down defensively while Emily Bailey scored 15 of her career-high tying 23 points in that span.  That victory helped to get the sour taste of the night before out their mouths where they weren't able to make a third quarter lead hold in a loss to Colorado Mesa.

BAILEY PRODUCING BIG
One thing the Orediggers have been able to count on this season is the production of Emily Bailey. Already one of the most dangerous offensive players in the conference averaging 12.6 points and 2.2 assists per game, Bailey has amped up her defense as well, ranking fourth in the RMAC with 25 blocks while also producing 23 steals. Her 4.2 rebounds per game is fourth on the team.

I'LL TAKE THAT
Mines has been the RMAC's best rebounding team through the first half of the season, producing 43.1 per game and holding a +6.7 rebounding margin. Guard Anna Kollmorgen has been tenacious in the paint to lead the team at 6.9 rebounds per game (she is third in the RMAC with 5.9 defensive boards per game), with forwards Liz Tomon (5.8 rpg) and Caitlyn Smith (5.2 rpg) behind her.

LAST YEAR
The Orediggers swept the season series last year against New Mexico Highlands. First, Mines won 67-53 down in Las Vegas, N.M. followed by a 78-60 victory a month later in Golden. Mines split the season series last season with the Thunderwolves. CSU-Pueblo won in Golden, 59-50, but the Orediggers had the last laugh as they defeated CSU-P in Pueblo, 63-52, to clinch the RMAC Championship.
