DENVER - Colorado School of Mines outscored Regis 33-18 in the fourth quarter to overcome a double-digit deficit and win, 82-74, on the road on Sunday.
The Orediggers (5-3, 2-0 RMAC) received huge offensive games from
Emily Bailey with 28 points and
Anna Kollmorgen with 18, and the pair sparked Mines in the second half with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
Elizabeth Tomon had a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, and
Cassidy Budge shot 4-for-4 from beyond the arc for 14 points.
Mary Sigler had 28 points with nine rebounds for Regis, as Majestie Robinson produced 21 points and six assists.
Mines led 18-13 after the first quarter, but the Rangers caught fire from beyond the arc in the second, sinking seven three-pointers in a 23-11 period to take a 36-29 lead into the break. Regis' lead ballooned to as much as 12 in a 5-0 run to end the third quarter, but the Orediggers answered with a 9-0 run to cut the lead to a basket.Â
The game remained tight until the middle part of the fourth, when a Kollmorgen three-point play sparked a 6-0 Mines run to take the lead for good. Budge's three-pointer put Mines ahead 66-63, and after a pair of Sigler free throws, baskets by Budge, Tomon, and Archambeau put the Orediggers ahead 73-65 with 2:57 remaining.
Regis cut it back as close as 77-74 in the final minute, but Mines ended on a 5-0 run, holding Regis scoreless in the closing 45 seconds as Kollmorgen, Tomon, and Archambeau combined to go 5-6 at the line.
The Orediggers return home Dec. 8 to host Black Hills State at 5 p.m.
