RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Colorado School of Mines women's basketball team made a late push against South Dakota Mines Saturday, but could not complete the comeback as the Orediggers fell, 65-57.
Nicole Archambeau led all scorers with 21 points and grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Anna Kollmorgen and
Emily Bailey were next on the team with eight points each, and Kollmorgen dished out five assists.
It was a back-and-forth game between the Orediggers (15-9, 12-6 RMAC) and Hardrockers (15-10, 10-9) with the score tied 10 times and lead exchanging hands 11 times. With 1:48 to play, Archambeau tied the game at 55 with a free throw. However, SDSMT immediately sank a 3-pointer and went 7-of-8 from the charity stripe to pull away down the stretch.
NOTABLES
- Archambeau has scored at least 20 points in five game this season. Her last outing over 20 points was a 26-point performance Jan. 23 against Colorado Christian.
- Kollmorgen has dished out at least five assists in nine games this season. Her last performance over five dimes was six Jan. 27 at Adams State.
- The Orediggers are 3-4 in the all-time series with South Dakota Mines after going 1-1 in the regular season.
- Mines is now in a three-way tie for fifth place in the RMAC standings.
