FORT SMITH, Ark. - A cold shooting night to start the season hurt Colorado School of Mines in a 75-45 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith in the 2017-18 opener.
The Orediggers (0-1) hit 34.6 percent of their shots and were 5-of-19 from the line and UAFS (1-0) generated 11 steals in the game to extend their lead in the second half.
Nicole Archambeau led Mines with 10 points and eight rebounds, with
Cassidy Budge providing eight points off the bench and
Paige Husa scoring seven.Â
UAFS led nearly the entire game, taking full control on a 10-0 run in the second quarter to lead 18-12. Their lead stayed in double digits for the entire second half. Micayla Haynes led UAFS with 16 points, with Daijah Brown adding 15.
Mines takes on St. Edward's at UAFS Saturday at 1 p.m.
